Applying to a Provider

Found an option you like? How to apply directly with the provider, what to check before you do, and what to do afterwards so other members benefit too.

Pro Kit shows you where to apply. The application itself is always between you and the provider, on the provider's own website.

1. Open the provider's website

On the provider's card, choose Open and the provider's name. Its website opens in a new tab, so Pro Kit stays open in the original tab.

2. Check before you apply

Before you start an application, check on the provider's website:

  • that it offers the product you want, and what it costs
  • who can apply (for example, age, UK residence and identity requirements)
  • whether it runs a credit check, and what kind
  • for savings, whether your money would be protected by the FSCS or safeguarded as e-money

If anything is unclear, contact the provider before applying.

3. Apply

Follow the provider's own application process. Answer every question honestly and accurately.

4. Tell other members how it went

Once you know the outcome, come back to the provider's card and choose Did it open for you?. It takes a few seconds and helps other members see which providers are accepting people. See Leaving feedback on a provider.

The link opens the provider's normal website. We don't add a referral code, we don't send the provider any of your details, and the provider isn't told that you found it through Pro Kit.

That's your decision. Bear in mind that some applications involve a credit check, and several credit searches in a short time can show on your credit file. Check each provider's process first.
Leave feedback so others know, then look at the other options in the same category. See What if a provider declines me?
