Weekly Checks and Verified Dates

Every Monday, Pro Kit checks every provider's website and adds new firms from the FCA registers. What the check does and what the verified dates mean.

Providers close, rebrand and change their websites. To keep the directory usable, our system checks it every week.

What happens every Monday

Early every Monday morning, our system:

  • visits every provider's website and confirms it is live and belongs to a firm that is still operating
  • updates the provider's Verified date when the check passes
  • removes a provider whose website has failed the check three weeks in a row
  • adds new firms that have appeared on the FCA registers of e-money and payment institutions, after checking them in the same way

If new providers are added, we email you to let you know. See Emails from Pro Kit.

The dates at the top of the page

Under the heading on the Financial options page you'll see two dates:

  • Last verified: the most recent date any provider in the directory was checked.
  • Next refresh: the next Monday, when the next check is due.

The date on each card

Verified and a date is the last time that provider's website passed the check. A new provider shows Added and a date, or Recently added.

Stance labels are reviewed regularly as well, but a provider can change its products or its approach at any time, so always confirm the details with the provider before you apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

If a provider's website doesn't pass one week's check, its date stays at the last successful check. It is removed if it fails three weeks running. A few listings are maintained by hand rather than checked automatically, so their date doesn't change each week.
It means the provider's website was checked on that date and confirmed to be live and operational. It doesn't mean the provider has confirmed anything to us or that it will accept you.
It can, if it passes our checks again when the directory is next rebuilt. See Why a provider was removed.
