Notifications

What Pro notifies you about, what to do when you get each one, and how to use the notification panel.

Share

Pro tells you when something on your case needs you, or when something changes on your account. Notifications appear under the bell at the top of the page, and each one is emailed to you as well. The names below are the headings you'll see in the panel.

About your case

  • Response Overdue: the deadline for a reply to one of your letters has passed and no reply has been uploaded. A chaser is added to your roadmap, ready to send. See Automatic chasers.
  • Information Request: a reply you uploaded asks you for more information before the institution will carry on. A step to provide it is added to your roadmap.
  • SAR Analysis Ready: the system has finished analysing a subject access request response you uploaded. See SAR forensic analysis.

About your account

  • New Device Login: your account was signed in to from a device it hasn't seen before.
  • Password Changed: your password was updated.
  • Account Locked: there were too many failed sign-in attempts, so sign-in is paused for 15 minutes.
  • Payment Failed: your monthly payment didn't go through.
  • Payment Method Updated or Removed: your primary payment method was changed, or a payment method was removed.
  • Access Ending and Access Ended: your subscription is about to end, or has ended.
  • Payment Due: if you pay by crypto, a reminder that your next payment is due soon. Card payments are taken automatically, so there's no reminder for those.

What to do when you get one

Tap a notification to go straight to the page it's about. It's marked as read when you open it.

  • Response Overdue: open the chaser step and send it. If the institution did reply and you just haven't uploaded it yet, upload the reply instead and the chaser is withdrawn. A letter that only acknowledges yours doesn't count as a reply, so the chaser stays.
  • Information Request: open the step and provide what they've asked for, so your case can carry on.
  • SAR Analysis Ready: open your case to see what was found.
  • New Device Login: if it was you, there's nothing to do. If it wasn't, change your password straight away and check the devices signed in to your account.
  • Password Changed: if you didn't change it, contact support straight away.
  • Account Locked: wait 15 minutes and try again. If it wasn't you trying to sign in, change your password once you're back in.
  • Payment Failed: update your payment method on the Subscription tab of your profile. See Payment not going through.
  • Payment Method Updated or Removed: if you didn't make the change, contact support and change your password.

Using the notification panel

  • Tabs: Unread shows what you haven't opened yet, All shows everything except what you've archived, and Archive shows what you've archived.
  • Read, unread and archive: on a phone, swipe a notification to the left. On a computer, hover over it and use the buttons at its top right.
  • Everything at once: the button at the top of the panel marks all as read on the Unread tab, all as unread on the All tab, and unarchives everything on the Archive tab.
  • Archiving doesn't delete: an archived notification moves to the Archive tab, and you can unarchive it at any time.
  • Refreshing: the list updates each time you open the panel, and notifications about your case also appear on their own while you're signed in. On a phone you can pull the list down to refresh it.

Notification settings

You can't turn notifications off at the moment. They're about deadlines, requests and changes to your account, so they go to everyone. The settings tab in the panel shows what's coming.
