The Case Documents page is where you'll find all files related to your case. You can view documents we've shared, download them, upload your own, and generate certain documents directly.

Finding your documents

On mobile and tablets: Tap the menu icon at the top left of the page (next to your name), select 'Case', then 'Documents'.

On desktop: In the menu on the left, select 'Documents' under 'Case'. If the menu is collapsed, select the folder icon to open it.

The page has two tabs: 'Documents', with all your case documents, and 'Requests', with any Letter of Authorisation our team has asked you to complete.

Viewing and downloading

Each document shows its name, file type and the date it was added. Press 'View' to open it in a new tab, or 'Download' to save a copy to your device.

Uploading documents

  1. Press the round button with three dots at the top right of the Case Documents page
  2. Select 'Upload'
  3. Select up to 10 files from your device
  4. Press 'Upload Document'. If you chose more than one file, the button shows how many you're uploading

Each file is added to your documents under its file name.

If you're taking photos of documents, make sure the text is clearly readable. Blurry or partially cropped images may need to be re-uploaded.

Generating documents

Press the round button with three dots, select 'Generate' and choose a Document Type. If you have more than one case, you'll also choose the institution. You can generate:

  • Account Status: a document to help keep your bank or credit accounts open if blocks have been placed due to your CIFAS marker. Press 'Generate', then 'View Document' to open it.
  • Letter of Authorisation: choose the marker type, say whether it's for yourself or someone else, add the address and a signature, and choose 'Signature only' or 'Signature + Photo ID', which also asks for a photo of your ID and a selfie. Check your details and press 'Generate'.

Generated documents are saved to your documents, so you can find them again later.

Letter of Authorisation requests

If our team asks you for a Letter of Authorisation, you'll get a notification and the request shows in the 'Requests' tab. Press 'Complete' and follow the steps. Once it's done, you can 'View' or 'Download' it from the same tab.

Invoices

Invoices are generated from your Funding page. Select 'Funding' under 'Case', press 'Invoice', choose the dates the invoice should cover, then press 'Generate' and 'Download'. Invoices are also saved to your documents. See Funding and allocations for more.

Yes. The portal works on mobile browsers, so you can choose files or photos stored on your phone.
If a bank or credit provider has blocked your account because of a CIFAS marker, the Account Status document can be presented to help keep the account open while your case is being resolved. If the institution has a branch, take it there with ID and proof of address dated within the last 3 months. If it's online-only, email it to their general contact address. Don't read its contents out over the phone.
For case integrity and audit purposes, documents cannot be deleted by clients. If you've uploaded something in error, contact our team at [email protected].
