OAuth (Open Authorisation) is a secure, industry-standard way to log in without a User ID and password. Instead, a trusted provider, Apple or Google, confirms who you are and logs you in.
Once you've connected Apple or Google, you can reach your Client Portal without entering your User ID or password, or the code we email you for two-factor authentication (2FA). The device you log in from is still recorded in your Devices list.
Setting up Apple or Google log in
On mobile and tablets: Tap the menu icon (≡) next to your name at the top left, tap your name at the top of the menu, then tap 'Manage account'. Make sure the 'Account' tab is selected, then scroll to 'Easy Log In'.
On desktop: Press your name at the top of the sidebar on the left, then press 'Manage account'. Make sure 'Account' is selected, then scroll to 'Easy Log In'.
You can also press 'Faster sign-in' under 'Quick actions' on your dashboard.
- Press 'Apple Log In' or 'Google Log In'
- Log in to the Apple or Google account you want to use
- You're brought back to your account settings, and that option now shows 'Connected'
You can connect either or both. Each Apple ID or Google account can only be connected to one Client Portal account.
Logging in with Apple or Google
On the log in page, instead of entering your User ID and password, press 'Log in with Apple' or 'Log in with Google' under 'Or continue with'. Log in with that provider and you'll go straight to your dashboard.
If you see 'Apple Log In Failed' or 'Google Log In Failed', that Apple ID or Google account isn't connected to a Client Portal account. Log in with your User ID and password instead, then connect it from 'Easy Log In'.
Disconnecting Apple or Google
- In 'Easy Log In', press the option that shows 'Connected'
- Press 'Disconnect'
You can connect it again at any time.
