A bank account

- Which features do you need? (any that apply): Direct debits & standing orders; Apple Pay / Google Pay; A Visa or Mastercard debit card; Send or receive international payments; Deposit cash at a branch or Post Office; Joint account with someone else; An overdraft facility; or None of these, just the basics.
- How do you prefer to manage your account? (one answer): Mobile app only is fine; App and web browser; I need branch access; Post Office access would be useful; No preference.
- Are you OK with a monthly fee? (one answer): No, it must be free; Up to £5/month is fine; Up to £10/month; I'll pay whatever if it works.
A savings account
- What type of savings account? (one answer): Easy access; Notice account; Fixed term; A cash ISA; Lifetime ISA; Help to Save; Not sure, I just want to save.
- How will you save? (one answer): A small amount each month (under £100); £100 to £500 each month; Over £500 each month; a one-off deposit under £1,000, from £1,000 to £10,000, or over £10,000; Automatic round-ups from spending.
- How important is deposit protection? (one answer): Must be FSCS-protected (up to £120k); E-money protection is fine for the amounts I'm saving; Not sure what the difference is.
- What matters most to you? (one answer): The highest interest rate; Being able to withdraw quickly; Automatic saving so I don't have to think about it; Saving pots or goal tracking.
A phone contract
- What type of deal are you looking for? (one answer): New phone + monthly contract; SIM-only; Pay as you go; Family plan / multiple SIMs; Tablet or mobile broadband SIM.
- How much data do you use? (one answer): Light (under 5GB); Medium (5 to 20GB); Heavy (20 to 100GB); Unlimited; Not sure.
- What's your monthly budget? (one answer): from Under £10/month up to Over £50/month, or Flexible, just need to get approved.
- Do you need any of these? (any that apply): 5G connectivity; International calls or roaming; A specific handset; No credit check; Short contract (1 month or 12 months); or None of these.
Car finance
- What kind of car finance? (one answer): Hire purchase; PCP; Lease / contract hire; Personal loan to buy outright; Not sure, whatever I can get approved for.
- What kind of vehicle? (one answer): a used car in one of three price bands up to £20,000; Brand new car; A van; A motorbike; Haven't decided yet.
- Can you put down a deposit? (one answer): from No deposit at all up to Over £5,000.
- Monthly budget for repayments? (one answer): from Under £100/month up to Over £400/month.
- Which of these apply? (any that apply): I have someone who could be a guarantor; I have a car to trade in; I'll be doing high mileage (15,000+ per year); or None of these.
Insurance
- What type of insurance do you need? (any that apply): Car; Van; Motorbike; Home (buildings); Home (contents); Travel; Life; Pet; Gadget / phone; Landlord.
Money transfers
- What kind of transfers? (one answer): Sending money abroad; Receiving money from abroad; Both; UK-to-UK transfers; I need a multi-currency account.
- Which regions do you need to send to or receive from? (any that apply): Europe; Africa; South Asia; Middle East; Southeast Asia / Philippines; Caribbean; North America; Central & South America; China; Other / multiple regions; or UK only.
- How often will you transfer? (one answer): One-off transfer; A few times a year; Monthly; Weekly or more.
- What's the typical transfer amount? (one answer): from Under £100 up to Over £10,000.
- What matters most? (one answer): Lowest fees; Speed (money arrives same day); Best exchange rate; Recipient can pick up cash (no bank account needed).
